| First and foremost we would
like you to relax and feel at home in Waterside. If you want
to sit in your room and watch television all day, that’s
alright with us. But you will be missing out on all Graiguenamanagh
has to offer. |

Walking on the Blackstairs Mountains |
Walking
Graiguenamanagh has in recent years become
the centre of a growing hillwalking trend in the
Southeast. The Barrow Towpath passes right through
town, which is also of course the route of the South
Leinster Way. As well as that there is the Blackstairs
Mountains and Brandon Hill. Between all of these
routes visitors have a choice between leisurely
river bank strolls, quiet country lanes, and a good
bracing hike in some beautiful mountain uplands.
Waterside is the perfect base camp to tackle walking
in the area. Comfortable lodgings, fine food, route
maps, packed lunches, drying facilities, etc, enable
our guests to enjoy a great walking break. |

Fishing
Game and coarse fishing are both available on our doorstep.
Trout and Salmon from March to September offer a great challenge
to the visiting angler. The Barrow is also one of the best
course fisheries in the country with good size Bream, Perch,
Pike, Rudd, Roach, Dace, Hybrids, and the annual run of Shad
in May.
Eels have been associated with Graiguenamanagh for 800 years
as the monks of Duiske Abbey controlled the eel fishing on
the river for centuries |

in Europe. certainly it is relaxed but it is now becoming
a popular destination for barges and cruisers and the Quay
in Summer is a colourful array of craft, some permanently
moored in Graigue, other just stopping off on some greater
voyage. |

or fishing, ect. |
